4to (285x205 mm), antiporta raffigurante la casa e la gens di Bertoldo, vignetta al frontespizio, ritratto dell'autore nel testo, 20 tavole fuori testo di Ludovico Mattioli, testatine e finalini incisi in rame, vitello coevo, dorso a nervi con titolo in oro, stemma dorato al centro dei piatti, dentelles, tagli dorati. Legatura lisa, dorso e angoli restaurati, piccola mancanza di carta all'angolo superiore del frontespizio, lievi fioriture marginali.

Small loss of paper at upper right corner of the title-page, small marginal tear on the second leaf, some short recent pencil notes on 5 pages, slight marginal foxing, hinges and corners of the binding restored.
