Catalogue Note

By a follower of Cristophoro Cortese (active c.1390-1445). The long pointed fingers and angular facial features of the figures point towards a series of cuttings, one of which is published by Palladino, Treasures of a Lost Art, 2003, no. 60, and another sold in our rooms, 20 June 1995, lot 32.
