twenty-three documents, including: (a) royal charter of James I, 450mm. by 200mm., 21 lines with calligraphic initial, remains of large royal seal in dark brown wax attached (70mm. in diameter), some significant loss to sides and outer edges, dated 1618; (b) royal charter of Charles I, 510mm. by 395mm., 18 lines with significant calligraphic initials lavishly decorated with pen-drawn fruit and organic sprays, and three-quarter border of pen-drawn flowers and fruit heightened with graphite, outstanding condition, dated 1636; plus 21 other documents: 11 of the reign of James I, 9 of Charles I and 1 of Charles II, all with minor stains, folds, small holes and some cockling, else fair and presentable condition
