eighteen documents, including: (a) large royal charter of Elizabeth I, 360mm. by 560mm., 42 lines in professional secretarial hand with elaborate calligraphic extensions to ascenders of initial letters, large royal seal in dark brown wax attached, with the queen enthroned on the front, and her on horseback holding a sword surmounted by a crown on the reverse, seal 110 mm. in diameter, some significant loss to sides and outer edges, crack across middle, and wear, but details sharp, else in fair condition, dated 1574; (b) royal recital of court record of Elizabeth I regarding an estate in Herts., 570mm. by 240mm., 15 lines with significant initials decorated with elaborate pen-drawn organic infill, excellent condition, dated 1562; with 16 other documents from her reign, 10 with seals, , all with minor stains, folds, small holes and some cockling, else fair and presentable condition
