Condition

STRUCTURE Original canvas. There are wax repairs to the reverse, one left of the central stretcher and two further in the lower left corner. There are lines of craquelure throughout the sky, otherwise the paint surface seems to be in good, overall condition. ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT UV light reveals patches of retouching corresponding to the aforementioned tears to the centre of the work and the lower right corner, also a patch in the sky, upper left and upper right a few further scattered spots to the foreground.
