STRUCTURE
The canvas has been relined.
PAINT SURFACE
The paint surface is generally sound; there are traces of a discoloured varnish in some areas and frame abrasions to the right hand edge.
ULTRAVIOLET
UV light reveals retouching to the figure's cheek and shoulder, retouching to the cheek in the reflection and to frame abrasions off the right and lower edge.
FRAME
Held in a plaster gilt frame with some chips to the giltwork.
