Catalogue Note

Rare Persian lithography. Sharafat was one of several official newspapers etablished in Iran under Nasir al-Din Shah and was published from 1896 until 1903. The portraits include members of the royal family, court officials, foreign rulers and diplomats. The present collection appears to comprise seventeen issues of the sixty-six published.
