Oblong folio (272 x 330mm.), 122 photographs of various sizes, mounted on card, recto and verso, mostly two or four to a page, some with more, contemporary black cloth, upper cover lettered 'Album' in gilt, spine worn, upper cover and some leaves detached

Catalogue Note
The album starts in Oman, with a portrait of the sultan and 28 photographs of Muscat including views of the harbour and fort, a formal meeting and dinner, artillery practice and scenes of everyday life. The rest of the album includes people and views on the Shatt al-Arab and other places in Iraq (34), Djibouti (8) and the remaining images (51) are mostly family photographs or ships. This compilation by a British naval officer, includes photographs in Muscat of crew from HMS Lapwing and Odin, both of which took part in the Persian Gulf Campaign of 1909-1914.
