Description

4 volumes, large paper copy, one of 25 printed for the Grenville family, 4to (296 x 225mm.), half-titles, engraved frontispiece portrait in the first volume of each work, engraved plate with Grenville arms at start of Iliad, contemporary red straight-grained morocco elaborately gilt by Staggemeier and Welcher, with their tickets, crest of Sir Mark Masterman Sykes with his initials gilt on each cover, spines gilt in compartments with green and navy morocco lettering-pieces, gilt edges, small section excised from upper corner of flyleaf in vol.1, plates and some flyleaves spotted, extremities and joints rubbed, joints splitting at foot of vol.2
