Catalogue Note
On the inside cover is an inscription in Greek "Silversmith Georgios Vrachliotes, Corfu, Greece 13-4-1933". Whilst stylistically it appears to be late eighteenth or early nineteenth century, production of such objects was very conservative. Compositionally, comparison may be made with Athanasios Tzemoures' binding for the Gospels of Saint Vessarion Monastery which dates from the early nineteenth century.
