Catalogue Note

A fine copy of a rare work, inscribed by the author to the French ambassador at the Ottoman court: "hommage de l'auteur à M. le général comte de Guilleminot ambassadeur du Roi près la Porte Ottomane". Armand Charles, comte Guilleminot (1774-1840), was a French general during the Napoleonic wars and ambassador to Constantinople from 1824 to 1831. This work is an account of Dupré's travels through Asia Minor, Mesopotamia, Armenia and Persia.
