- A LARGE MOORE BROTHERS COMPORT, CIRCA 1885
- 49cm high
raised on a circular gilded base, the body modelled as two semi draped putti supporting a stylised shell with applied gilded lotus leaves and flowers
Condition
No major cracks or lossess; the piece is in relatively good condition when compared to most pieces by Moore Brothers; rubbing and small losses to gilding on point of buds, lotus flowers and leaves; small chips and losses to lotus leaf to base; rubbing to gilding around the base and on gilded belt to putti's waist; restoration to rim approximately 2cm long; crazing and darkened hairline crack to calf and around left foot of putti with gilded belt;
