Catalogue Note

'Through a gap in a hedge steps a blue and white, twisted figure, a being on an exalted plane, looking steadfastly in front of him. The parabolic nature of the painting is increased by the shaft of chrome on the blue and green hedge through which he steps, which lights the grass all over'.

(Hilary Pyle, op.cit., vol.II, p.894)
