Condition
Original canvas. There are some fine lines of paint separation to the dark pigments in the bottom half of the composition, visible in the catalogue illustration and notably to the legs of the figure on the far right and to the back pigment in the bottom left corner, otherwise in good original condition.
Under ultraviolet light, there appear to be no signs of retouching.
Held in a plaster gilt frame under glass; unexamined out of frame.
