Catalogue Note
Sean-Eoin or Old John was a children's story about a shoemaker and his pets by Mairin Cregan. It was written in 1935, published in New York the following year and Yeats later provided the illustrations for the Irish translation, which was published by the Dublin Stationary Office in 1938.
