Description
Drawing by Shaikh Zayn al-Din in pencil, pen and ink, watercolor with gum arabic, heightened with touches of white on paper (20 7/8 x 27 3/8 in.; 530 x 695 mm), entitled Lineated barbet, megalaima lineate on a juniper tree, inscribed "Honest Face | In the Collection of Lady Impey in Calcutta | Painted by [Shaikh Zayn-al-Din] native of Patna 1778," further inscribed in Persian and numbered "58" in upper left corner. Floated on a linen mat and uniformly glazed and framed with the previous lot.
