Lithographed map (19 3/8 x 26 5/8 in.; 493 x 676 mm) with original color and vine border, inset maps of Sabine Lake, Galveston Bay, Matagorda Bay, Plan of the Northern Part or Panhandle of Texas, and Plan of the Great West, with original green blindstamped cloth pocket cover, gold-stamped on upper cover "Richardson's Map of Texas 1872." Matted, glazed, and framed.

Catalogue Note

Willard Richardson (1802-1875) worked in Texas as a teacher, journalist, and publisher of a series of almanacs. These maps were published separately as an option for buyers of the almanac, and usually appear without the almanac.
