set of 8 in blocks of 4, exceptional bright colours, the 20 peso stamp with perfect centring, unmounted original gum. AN ICONIC ISSUE IN EXTREMELY RARE BLOCKS. PRISTINE CONDITION.
Probably because of the high total face value of the set, it is very rarely seen in blocks, also since only 1,500 of the 20 peso were issued. The rarity of this set in blocks and in such perfect condition is emphasised when reviewing premier collections of Mexico and World Airmail stamps. The Erick Koenig collection of Mexico auctioned by Sotheby's in 1995 did include this set in blocks; however that set was mounted
