The paint is flaking at the top edge and there are further paint losses to the border on each side corresponding with the removal of the oklad. There are further areas of paint loss to Christ's halo, his hand and his robes. There are residues of paint to Christ's hair and the bottom right of the halo, which could be removed and improve the appearance of the icon.
The maker's marks are partially obliterated.
The oklad appears to be in good condition. There is a small area of enamel loss to the cream enamel on the bottom right section of the halo. There are further minor patches of losses to the white enamel petals throughout. The top right bead cross is lacking enamel on one of the beads. UV light reveals no obvious restoration.
The seed pearls are discoloured and slightly loose around the bottom edge.
Overall this is an attractive icon in good condition.
