the Mother of God, in dark red maphorion, depicted holding the playful Christ Child who bends His left leg behind Her arm and is holding a scroll in His right hand, painted on a gold ground, the halos punched

There is a crack running down the centre of the icon and paint and gesso have worn partly to the wood of the panel on the lower border. The restorer who cleaned the icon has left a spot of the darkened varnish on the middle left-hand border. We would advise prospective buyers to view.
