Description
- height of coffee pot: 20.5cm, 8 1/8 in.
comprising: a coffee pot, teapot, waste bowl and eleven cups and saucers, all painted with the cottage's coat of arms: a blue shield emblazoned with a sword and wreath, the gilt borders with Cyrillic motto: For Faith, the Tsar and the Fatherland, one piece with blue Imperial cipher of Nicholas I, twelve with green Imperial cipher of Alexander III and twelve with green Imperial cipher of Nicholas II
Condition
The coffee pot: the lid has possibly been matched and the lower edge of the spout's lip is chipped.
The tea pot: the lid has possibly been matched.
The slop bowl: the bottom rim has a chip to it approximately 1 by 1.5cm.
One of the cups has two cracks of approximately 3cm in length, and one has a chip to the interior of the upper rim. A third cup has a very small chip to the tip of the handle.
One saucer with hairline cracks running half way across the saucer.
The gilding of the component parts of the teaset has rubbed in places consistent with age and use. There are minor chips to the glaze of the coats of arms which are hardly noticeable.
Additional measurements: height of tea pot: 17cm, 6 3/4 in.; diameter of slop bowl: 20.3cm, 8in.; diameter of saucer: 13.6cm, 5 3/8 in.
