Two porcelain soup plates from the Cameo Service, Imperial Porcelain Manufactory, period of Nicholas I (1825-1855)

each painted with the floriated cipher of Empress Catherine II within ribbon-tied sprigs of laurel and myrtle, pale blue ground, the border painted en grisaille with reserves of classical figures within raised gilt scrolls, each with blue Imperial cipher of Nicholas I

The blue paintwork is rubbed on both bowls, visible in the photograph. The gilt scrolls on the borders is rubbed, one bowl has rubbing on the gilt band in the cavetto.
