Condition

Original canvas. The paint surface is fairly clean with some patches of fine craquelure in places. UV light reveals some spots of retouching to the background. However an opaque layer of fluourescing varnish prevents a more conclusive analysis. The varnish has worn thin in places (e.g. to the right of the sitter's chest and in the lower right corner). Held in an bronze painted wooden frame.Unexamined out of frame.
