Biography:
Liga Purmale born in Latvia 1948, graduated from Art Academy of Latvia in 1975. Since 1978 is a member of Latvia Artists' Union. She works in media of painting and scenography. She is considered to be one of the founders of Latvian photorealism. Her works are in the collections of The State Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow, Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum, New Jersey, Latvian National Museum of Art, Riga and other.
