Condition
This canvas is still stretched on its original stretcher. The paint layer has most likely not been cleaned yet does not appear to be dirty. A few small cracks have developed in the background above the fish.
There is one small loss in the waist of the fish in the center. If a small amount of the cracking were to be consolidated and a spot of retouch applied to the paint loss, this may well suffice. No varnish or structural work is recommend.
