in Neo-Classical style, the body of the hexagonal inkwell chased with a pattern of wreaths and swags between two tripods, the hinged lid with ribbon-tied wreaths on alternating panels and a pinecone finial, the interior gilded, the rectangular base set with two stands chased with floral decoration, the stepped base finely chased with repeating leaf and berry patterns, set on four paw feet, with presentation inscription and date 1914
