Description

  • height: 8.8cm, 3 1/2 in.
in rococo taste, the surface enamelled in translucent rose Pompadour over banded wavy engine-turning, overlaid with diagonal bands of chased gold scrolls, circular-cut diamond thumbpiece, struck with workmaster's initials and Fabergé in Cyrillic, scratched inventory number 46147 or 40147, 72 standard

Condition

Excellent condition. One scroll mount, side near base, is slightly bent away from the object; it has been glued with minute traces of glue residue visible.

Catalogue Note

This case is exceptionally luxurious given that, while the metal under most Fabergé enamel is silver, this is enamelled onto gold, giving the pink a richer, warmer tone.
