A Fabergé wood cigarette case with jewelled two-colour gold mounts, workmaster Victor Aarne, St Petersburg, 1899-1908
carved in palisander, the lid applied with a gold coin of Elizabeth Petrovna within ribbon-tied chestnut leaves set with cabochon emeralds, surmounted by a rose-cut diamond-set Imperial crown, the end with vesta compartment, orange tinder cord with silver-gilt ring, containing two Bogdanov cigarettes, struck with workmaster's initials and Fabergé in Cyrillic, 56 and 88 standards
