Description
- the stand with interlaced LL's monogram enclosing date letter M, painter's mark S, the bowl with incised mark o
- the tray 26cm., 10¼in. wide
painted by Pierre-Antoine Méreaud L'aîné with friezes riches, comprising alternating panels of shells and diapers linked with flower garlands, the blue ground borders with gilt lattice and 'pointillé' decoration, foliate scroll handles to bowl, the domed cover with a laurel branch handle (some minor losses to gilding)
Condition
the stand with some losses to gilt line around central well, a very minor rubbing to gilding on outer rim to one side; the bowl with a few losses to gilt line around upper rim; the cover with minute loss to gilded laurel berry on top of moulded handle
