Description

  • 85cm. high, 85cm. wide, 49cm. deep; 2ft. 9½in., 2ft. 9½in., 1ft. 7½in.

Condition

In good/fair condition. The top has some stains, some splits and is missing a section of veneer to one corner. Old marks and scratches throughout. Some minor lifting to veneers on the top. Very good colour and patina.

Catalogue Note

The quality of this chest, with its fine figured veneers and unusually good chased and cast handles, might suggest that it was acquired by Sir John Hussey-Delaval, later Lord Delaval who commissioned furniture from John Cobb in the 1760's.
