Description

  • Dave Heath
  • WASHINGTON SQUARE, NEW YORK CITY
mounted, signed in ink on the reverse, 1958 (Dialogue with Solitude, unpaginated)

Condition

This early print, on paper with a surface sheen, is mounted to a thick buff-colored mount. The edges of the print are rubbed, and there are tiny nicks at the right edge. In raking light, the following are visible: faint scratches throughout that do not appear to break the emulsion, and scuffing of the surface in the center, in the area of the sitter's eyes and forehead. The mount is age-darkened on the front and the back, and there are what appear to be small liquid droplet deposits on the front on the mount, particularly at the left side. On the reverse, there is a cellulose tape deposit and a small abrasion near the upper edge, center.
