This warm-toned early print, on double-weight paper with a matte surface, is in generally excellent condition.

Catalogue Note
In a 1979 letter to an early owner of this photograph, quoted in the Sotheby's catalogue entry referenced above, photographer Helen Levitt wrote,
'The wall drawing pictures are mine all right. They were probably taken around 1941 as the one of the long figures I call the "fashion drawing" was in my show at MoMA in 1943.--Strangely enough, I remember where I took them--all in the same place. It was somewhere on the lower west side of Manhattan--Lower Greenwich village around Hudson St.'
