These prints, on cool-white, semi-glossy, double-weight paper, are in generally excellent condition. 'Waikiki Beach' - In raking light, the following are visible: a pencil-point sized indentation that does not break the emulsion in the center of the print; and brownish soiling of indeterminate nature at the bottom left margin edge of the print. 'Berkeley, CA' - The corners are lightly bumped. In raking light, soft handling creases are visible in the lower left quadrant. On the reverse, there are a number of unobtrusive pinpoint-sized rust-colored spots which do not affect the image and are not visible from the front. There is slight soiling in the corners on the reverse. According to Henry Wessel, he signed prints 'Henry Wessel, Jr.' through 1979; in 1980, he dropped the 'Jr.' from his signature. Although these photographs were acquired from the photographer around 1983, it is likely that they were made prior to 1980, because of the signature.
