Description

  • Robert Frank
  • 'LONDON' (STREET MUSICIAN)
signed, titled, and dated in ink in the margin, 1951 (London/Wales, p. 64)

Provenance

Acquired from Donna Schneier, Inc., New York, 1976

Condition

This early, slightly warm-toned print, on double weight paper with a very slight surface sheen, is in generally good to very good condition. The edges are rubbed, the corners are bumped, and there is light soiling in the margins. Three of the corners are creased, but this does not affect the image. When examined in raking light, the following are visible: fingerprints in the upper and left portions of the print; small creases not breaking the emulsion; and faint scratches and scuffs. These are not visible at a normal viewing distance. The reverse is lightly soiled, and there is a strip of cellulose tape remains at the upper edge. It has been annotated 'LB 468' in an unidentified hand in pencil. When examined in raking light, this print does not appear to fluoresce.
