Description

  • Lisette Model
  • 'NEW YORK PUBLIC LIBRARY' (RUNNING LEGS)
ferrotyped, signed twice and titled in pencil and ink and with the copyright stamp on the reverse, framed, circa 1940-41

Provenance

Acquired from Ehlers Caudill Gallery, Chicago, 1994

Condition

This early ferrotyped print, on medium-weight paper, is in generally good condition. There is a 3 1/4-inch crease breaking the emulsion in the upper left corner. The lower corners are creased, with some small emulsion loss. The edges are rubbed, with tiny nicks. In raking light, the following are visible: light scratches; small soft and sharp handling creases; and small impressions. The surface also has small pitting that is typical of the ferrotyping process. On the reverse, there is light soiling and small cloth tape remnants at the upper edge. The numbers '11' and '13' are circled on the reverse, and there are two other numerical penciled notations--'6-96/C' and ' 3./1.3/1/1.'
