Description

- 'THROUGH A WINDOW PANE' (REFLECTION, NEW YORK)
ferrotyped, signed and titled in pencil and with the copyright/estate stamp on the reverse, framed, 1939-40 (Lisette Model, pl. 59)
Provenance
Acquired from Edward Tyler Nahem Fine Art, New York, 1993
Condition
This ferrotyped early print, on medium-weight paper with a slight wave, is in generally good condition. The edges are rubbed, and there is creasing and small emulsion losses at the corners. Small pitting of the surface and slightly uneven gloss near the edges, characteristic of the ferrotyping process, are visible in raking light. Also visible in raking light are faint scratches, sharp handling creases in the central portion, and a linear impression at the left side.
There is light soiling and age-darkening on the reverse. The archive number, 'D112,' is written in pencil in the estate stamp, and there are reduction notations, as well as the following numbers in pencil--'5J' in the upper right corner and '83.'
