Description

  • Robert Doisneau
  • 'LES AMOUREUX AUX POIREAUX'
large-format, framed, 1950 (Family of Man, p. 12)

Condition

This early, warm-toned print, on double-weight paper with a pearlized texture, is in generally very good condition. The corners are creased, most noticeably in the lower left corner, and the edges are lightly yellowed. In raking light, faint surface scratches and scuffs are visible, as well as tiny deposits of original retouching. Upon close examination, a few abrasions to the top layer of emulsion are visible, which appear to have been expertly in-painted. The reverse of the print is slightly age-darkened and there are small areas of restoration to the top paper ply.
