Condition
This cyanotype, with medium-blue coloring, is in generally very good to excellent condition. A few very small white areas are visible in the corners of the image. There are a few faint markings of indeterminate nature visible in the image. There is slight sunning on the album leaf mount at the periphery of the image. There is typical rippling in the album leaf at the periphery of the mount that does not affect the image, the left edge is worn, and the lower corners are rounded. Faint impressions left by the matting corners are visible in the margin corners of the mount and on the reverse. There is light soiling on the mount and on the reverse. The mount is annotated 'AA+.117.Y' in an unidentified hand in pencil. None of these issues detracts from the fine appearance of this early cyanotype.
On the reverse, the mount is annotated '100,' '1240.10,' and 'Anna Atkins' in an unidentified hand in pencil.
