This cyanotype, with medium-dark blue coloring, is in generally very good to excellent condition. A small loss of paper in the negative is visible at the corners of the print. There are a few small, faint deposits of indeterminate nature visible in the image. There is faint sunning on the album leaf mount at the periphery of the image, as well as slight rippling, most noticeably at the right edge. There is a 1 1/4 inch by 5/8 inch section of the mount missing, a 1/4-inch tear into the mount, and a one-inch band of age-darkening along the left mount edge. None of these issues affects the image. Faint impressions left by the matting corners are visible in the margin corners of the mount and on the reverse. There is very light soiling on the mount and on the reverse. None of these issues detracts from the fine appearance of this early cyanotype. The reverse of the mount is annotated '80,' '1240.19,' 'Anna Atkins,' and 'AA+.107.x' in an unidentified hand in pencil on the reverse.
