Condition

These photographs, on a variety of papers with matte surfaces, are in generally very good to excellent condition except where noted: Otto Dobrowolny, Licht und Schatten - This print is mounted to a textured, cream-colored board that is lightly soiled with corners that are bumped. The photographer's insignia and title are written in pencil on the mount. On the reverse of the mount are the following labels: the photographer's credit, title, edition, and printing information label, annotated in ink and in pencil, which is lifting somewhat from the mount; an International Photographische Ausstellung (IPHA), 1929, exhibition label; and a 1929 Third Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union Salon label. Imboden, Prag - Mounted, this print is separated from the board at the lower right corner. Signed, titled, and annotated '4' in pencil on the mount. The mount is lightly soiled and the corners are bumped. Ferdinand Titze, Grosshafen - This print, signed by the photographer in pencil on the mount, is overmatted. The overmat has separated from the mount at the lower edge and the print is separated from the overmat at the lower left corner. As a result of the overmat adhesive, there are 2 ½-inch circular losses to the top layer of emulsion that are not visible when the print is viewed in its mat. The overmat and reverse of the mount are soiled. A 1929 IPHA label is on the reverse. Josef Sikora, Kokslöschturm - There is age-appropriate silvering in the dark areas at the periphery of the print. There is a droplet of liquid soiling of an indeterminate nature in the lower left quadrant of the print that does not affect the image. This print, signed, titled and dated '1933' in pencil on the mount, is overmatted. The overmat is lifting at the lower left edge and there are one-inch losses of the top paper ply on the bottom corners. The overmat and reverse of the mount are soiled. On the reverse of the mount is a Wiener Lichtbildner-Klub label, titled, dated, and annotated in green ink and pencil in an unidentified hand. Imboden, Salzburg - This print is mounted to a board that has fingerprint soiling, which does not affect the image and which is not visible when the print is viewed in its mat. This print is signed, titled and numbered '1' in pencil on the mount. Imboden, Wien - This mounted print is signed, titled and numbered '8' in pencil on the mount. Adolf Fritz, Wien - This cool-toned photograph is signed and dated by the photographer in pencil in the margin. On the reverse, it is signed and with various annotations including '3. Strasse im Winter,' 'Transfer,' and '18126/III' in pencil and '114' circled in red crayon. Also on the reverse is a 1929 IPHA label and a 1928 Toronto Salon label. There are faint handling creases at the print's margin edges and there are 2 light fingerprints of soiling near the upper print edge. Alfred Wodassek, Moravian Landscape - This print is tipped at the upper corners to an age-darkened mount, which is signed and dated by the photographer in pencil. The edges and corners of the mount are worn and bumped. On the reverse of the mount, there are various annotations in ink and a 1929 IPHA label. Also on the reverse are 3 small losses to the surface of the mount, which does not affect the image.
