Description

- 'NEWLY OCCUPIED TRACT HOUSES. COLORADO SPRINGS'
mounted, signed, titled, and dated on the reverse, framed, 1968, printed in 1971
Provenance
Acquired by the present owner from Matthew Marks Gallery, New York, 1999
Literature
The New West, p. 31; To Make it Home, p. 30
Condition
This photograph is in generally excellent condition. Upon close examination, in the bottom right corner, there is a slender ΒΌ-inch vertical linear loss to the top layer of emulsion that appears to have been retouched with graphite; this is barely noticeable and does not affect the image. On the top edge of the mount is a very faint horizontal 2-inch remnant of adhesive. On the reverse, 'NW 31' and 'RA.1034.Y' are annotated by the photographer in pencil. Notations by the photographer on the reverse of the mount indicate this print was made in 1971.
