  • 'ELEANOR, PORT HURON'
signed, framed, 1954, printed later

Acquired by the present owner from Howard Greenberg Gallery, New York, 2002

Literature

Eleanor, p. 13; MoMA, p. 21; Aperture, cover

Condition

This photograph, on double-weight paper with a slight surface sheen, is in generally excellent condition. There is a tiny, barely noticeable droplet stain at the lower edge of the image. Visible in raking light is a pinpoint area of original retouching near Eleanor's feet. When examined under a black light, the print appears to fluoresce very slightly. The print is annotated 'E M 7' in an unidentified hand in pencil on the reverse.
