Description

  • Brett Weston
  • 'ALASKA'
(Carmel: self-published, 1978), a portfolio of 15 photographs, each mounted, signed on the mount, 1973-77, printed in 1978. Folio, beige linen folding box with flaps, no. 20 in an edition of 35

Condition

The prints and printed matter are in generally excellent condition. Some of the prints have slight silvering in the dark areas. A tiny sliver of dry-mounting tissue is visible on the mount at the periphery of a few of the images. Additional specific information follows: Log Pond, 1973 and Glacial Ice, 1977: There is light soiling on the reverse of the mount. Totem Pole Detail, 1977: There are 2 tiny, negligable surface scratches near the center left edge and a few small, soft creases, likely a result of the dry-mounting process, about 1/2-inch above the bottom edge. Ice Forms, 1977: On the reverse, there is a small, 1/4-inch single layer of the mount board that is lifting along the bottom edge. This does not affect the image. Stump Detail, 1973: On the reverse of the mount, there are a dozen, very tiny red deposits of indeterminate nature that do not affect the image. The folio case is in generally excellent condition, with the exception of a small 1/4-inch split into the cloth at the top portion of the spine.
