Description
- Peter Beard
- '8' 9" Spitting Cobra in Tsavo in June-July 1960 before the die-off'
Silver print, ink, paint and collage of smaller silver prints. Signed, titled and dated by the photographer. The reverse with 'A Gallery for Fine Photography 'Peter Beard/Fifty years of portraits' stamp twice. Printed later.
Condition
The print very lightly rippled at the edges, where the collage and paint additions are concentrated. Examination of the print surface in a raking light reveals two light stress marks, one just north of the image centre and another at the centre of the left edge. Neither is distracting. One or two collaged silver prints are lifting slightly at the lower egde. The reverse of print with some paint and ink splashes.
Overall excellent condition for a print of its kind.
