The painting has been cleaned recently
The painting is slightly darker than image shows
retouchings in the sky; some tiny retouchings in the people and some tiny lacks on the woman standing on the right
Good overall condition
One side of the "A" in the signature seems to have been slightly strengthened

Catalogue Note
Alexis a peint auprès d'Eugène, son frère jumeau. Tous deux se consacrèrent aux paysages et aux scènes d'Afrique du Nord, qu'ils parcoururent en tous sens, avec une prédilection pour l'Algérie.
Il fut membre perpétuel de la Société des Artistes français à partir de 1889 et participa régulièrement aux Salons où il exposa des scènes algériennes. (cf: Elisabeth Cazenave, Les artistes de l'Algérie, Maxéville, 2001, p.216)
