Catalogue Note
Images from Dürer's Small Passion were popular models for Limoges enamel painters in the 16th century. See for example Pierre Reymond's series in the Los Angeles County Museum (no. 51.1.1) and Pierre II Veyrier's in the Walters Art Gallery (44.364).
