  • St. John the Baptist
  • gilt and polychromed wood with a metal halo, a white label marked VT 657 9 on the underside
  • Spanish, Murcia region, 18th century

Condition

Overall the condition of the figure is good. There is wear to the polychromy consistent with age. This includes wear to the folds at the back of the figure. There is a loss to the cloak on the proper right side of the figure. The fingers of the proper left hand have restorations. Sections of the base were carved separately and joined. The Baptist's staff is lost. There are small holes to the halo.
