Description

  • St. Paul

Condition

Overall the condition of the wood is very good. There is some wear and minor dirt consistent with age, particularly on the top of the head, proper right arm and the top of the proper lower left arm. There is some minor, stable, splitting and worming to the surface consistent with age. The blade and the cross-guards of the sword may have been replaced. Most polychromy is found in the crevices in the lower half of the figure, there is part of a linen patch for a knot at the drapery just above the saint's proper right foot.
