Description

  • Virgin and Child
  • gilt and polychromed wood

Condition

Overall the condition of the group is good. There is overall wear and some minor dirt to the surface consitent with age and handling. The coloured surface has worn through to the wood at the highs of the folds. Both arms of the Child and part of the Virgin's crown have been lost. There are some minor signs of worming consistent with material particularly to the back. The base is attached to the figure with two large old nails; a further nail and a staple are visible at the reverse.
