Overall the condition of the terracotta is good. There are several minor cracks (mostly from firing), restorations and losses to the terracotta plus dirt and some minor wear to the surface consistent with age and handling. The figure of Omphale has a restored crack to her proper left elbow. There are traces of green and red pigment to her proper left side. The figure of Hercules has filled cracks running along his proper right buttock, around his behind and in the terrasse near his buttocks. There are restored cracks to the elbow and wrists of his proper right elbow and parts of his yarnwinder in both hands are lost. The heel of his proper left foot has been restored and there is a joint visible under its sole. The putto has losses to its wings, proper left hand fingers and toes of the proper left foot. There are several minor firing cracks to the terrasse and chips to its edges to the proper left side of the group at the branch and just under the club Omphale holds. Traces of an old white wash or ground cover the back of the base. The sculptor has left very distinct fingerprints on the underside of the group.
